Love?-2

2.

Is love a pit to fall in?
Or a dungeon that we’re in?
Why’s it thought of as immoral,
yet practiced by the Immortal?

Is Darkness an ugly state?
Why’s Death a horrible fate?
What if darkness was Nature?
Perhaps, it’s humble in stature.

What if Life was just freedom,
and, judgment but cumbersome?
What if I fell in love with Darkness?
What Magic could I harness?

Let go of it all, my dear friend!
This isn’t really how it all ends.
If we saw the beauty of the Dark,
you’d find her love is quite stark.

~Pramodh Iyer, a poet of The Equilibrium of Life

YOU WILL NOT FIND ME

YOU WILL NOT FIND ME

You can look but you won’t find me

Behind a mask that covers the insanity

I hide from the painful life that is reality

Where love is insane, and so is its ecstasy.

You can look but you won’t find me

I set sail into the wide open seas

Far away from all is where I long to be

‘Cause love is insane, and so is its ecstasy.

You can look but you won’t find me

I move with the birds and the winds

I live in my mind’s wildest dreams

Where love is sane, and so is its ecstasy.

You can look but you won’t find me

Because you don’t know what I seek

And you’re blind to what I see

That love is sane, and so is its ecstasy.

You can look but you will only find me

When you finally set your mind free

And from the bottom of your heart sing

That love is sane, and so is its ecstasy!

She

She raged like a storm

but she cried like the rain

She was the roaring lion

but she was also the cowering deer

She was the ice that froze your heart

but she was also the flames that thawed it back

She could stomp you out

like a cigarette beneath her boot

but she also had the cigarette nestled between her lips

Hers could be the arms pushing you underwater

but they could also be the ones that were your anchor

She was the ferns that tickled your feet

but also the thorns that drew your blood

She was everything you loved

and everything you hated.

We’re Falling Apart

With every sarcastic jab

Passed off with a breezy laugh

I wonder when I lost you

I wonder what I did to push you away

Tiny Spaces

I loved him in the places where weeds grew

in the cracks between pavements

in the narrow alleyways littered with burnt hopes and dreams

I loved him somewhere between forever and never

I loved him somewhere between poison and elixir

I loved him somewhere between the light of the sun’s first rays

And the dying of the day

I loved him in the endless fall

between the jump and the crash-landing

In between the hours of the day

In between the creases on my forehead

In between fighting and giving up

In the little glitches of time and space

In between the street lamp and its glow

In between lightning and thunder

In between the mirror and its reflection

In the breaks between living and dying

I loved him in all these tiny spaces.
